The Gorman Group provides appraisal services nationwide, our home office is in the South Suburbs and the bulk of our work is Chicago oriented. Bob Gorman has had offices in Ford City, Beverly, Riverdale and South Shore before moving to our current office in Homewood/E. Hazel Crest. While nationally we tend to do very complex appraisals like airport properties, golf courses and even a sewer system, in Chicagoland our work is much more conventional. We do not, however appraise homes. Typical southside work includes buildings like small offices, retail stores, gas stations, and restaurants. We work with local governmental agencies like villages, local banks and numerous law firms. Appraisals are generally prepared for tax appeal, eminent domain, purchase/sale. Our appraisers are all local. They live in Farnkfort, Chesterton, and Bourbonais. We belive you need to really know the aeras you are serving. The pictures on the right reflect our expertize. The Roundhouse Restaurant in Aurora (circa 1850’s) is the largest restaurant we have done. It contains over 50,000 square feet. Churches, hotels and schools are other typical properties.
